Maximilian Marterer Champion
Second seed Maximilian Marterer, of Germany, came out on top from a set down in the final of the Good to Great Challenger facing eight seed Brandon Nakashima of the USA.
Nakashima started best breaking the 28 year-old Germans serve in the first game and kept momentum throughout the set claiming it 6-2. In the second set Marterer pushed back earning several opportunities to break the Americans serve but it wasn’t until Nakashima served to level the score to 5-5 where the 192 cm tall Marterer secured the set by denying the American and clinching his fist to level the final one set all.
Nakashima failed to hold serve at 2-3 in the third and Marterer kept his cool and managed to steer clear of the return break as Nakashime could not convert the chance he got in Marterers service game.
After 2h and 10 mins Marterer converted his second match point and set the score to 2-6 6-4 6-3 claiming his 9:th Challenger title in his career.
